I'm a little worried that I've erred in clipping the couple's legs . . .

i would've gone with a portrait orientation shot for this one. the elements on either side of the subjects don't really add much to the picture.

Cute capture, but the light on her face is very distracting for me. Love the smoke elements though!

The orientation is fine, a landscape shot gives the shot context, shows people in the background looking on and laughing at the action. I'd crop it even tighter to lose a bit of the top and right side.

This is a good shot, no way i'd throw it away when you have such a great expression on the groom's face.

Not sure if I'd call that a great expression.....well just my opinion.

I personally think it's a great capture. it's not magazine quality b/c of the blowout, which i think a lot of people are quick to say "chunk it" if it is not, but i think there are a lot of great elements of this photo.

the background, there is another couple dancing turning around happily gazing at the newly wed couple...in the far back, more on-lookers smiling enjoying their dance. the couple on the right not so interested, but the groom has a great smile.

Just my 0.02 ;)

I like it... It captured a fun moment for this couple. Sure they will like it. For me... no problem if legs cropped.

I notice that there is a lot of room above their heads. I would have aimed a bit lower to reduce the empty space up above and get the legs in, down below. Other than that, pay no mind to the neigh sayers... this shot shows great action! The bright face might be saved with a little careful PP.

I hope you don't mind but I tightened up the crop a bit. Also as a general rule, try not to crop at a joint, knee, elbow, etc. Overall I think its a catchy shot!

Nicely captured. The tighter crop make it look much better. You should try a version where you adjust the levels and what-nots to make the black and white "pop"

I actually like this one. I don't think a shot has to be perfect technically to be a great shot. There is great energy in this one, that's why I like it.

As everyone else has pointed out it may not be the perfect technical shot, but I love the fun and atmosphere portrayed in this shot.

Personally I prefer the uncropped version as I think it sets the scene better, IMHO.
