I ask because it seems a bit off to me. What could I have done better?

It's pretty good but i can still see the "flashy" ness of it..but obviously you work with what you can! nice job!

Do you think it's strong enough to be a portfolio piece?

I think it's a solid photo. I wouldn't make it the "Best" photo in your portfolio, but I think it's good.

Sadly, my portfolio is weak. It is one of my strongest pieces. :-(

I'd crop a little on the left and right to take out the half-people :)

Has a slight tinge of green, due to the overhang reflections. But not too bad.

maybe a crop as suggested and a bit of levels and curves adjustment would make it pop... I might try a quick edit as an example if you like..

Hope your ok with this... please this is a quick edit... I am running on my way out the door and the cloning on the right is not that good. But a bit of sharpening in locations on the face, flowers etc. and some levels and curves adjustment might make your image pop just a bit more...

hope this helps.

like the crop...but that image looks way oversharpened.

hmmm I guess I suck.. the only sharpening was to the flowers, earings hair and eyebrows...not sure how that makes the whole image over sharpened? I did only spend like 2 mins on it before leaving. Too much curves too much levels now that I look back. My monitor is not calibrated by any means... this might not help either....I thinking bring up the black side of the levels may have added the appearance of sharpening as well...defining some of the small shadows...

but the first image to me is very flat and the flowers OOF the arm on the left seems to be not pleseant and the dude on the right doesn't add to the image and neither does part of the structure... but I guess all of that has nothing to do with the original question....

hey I tried and that is how I learn too...sorry if I was no help at all. I would be interested in other peoples look, try or go at this...

no one said you were no help...I think the crop is much better. Your image just looks a little overdone. I feel first image just needs a little levels, contrast, and some magenta.

agreed fully... I did it fast... came home opened this... the colors etc...look like ummmm Crap...self admited...hahaha:)

I like this one better..There is still some OOF or something soft in the flowers that is distracting me personally...and you proved Cloning dude on the right out was not a necessity...nice work...

I think the guy on right needs to go......just didn't feel like doing it
