I'm not sure this belongs here, but I wanted to know from the "car guys" what you do to your pictures after the shoot.

When I take landscapes or people pictures, I usually do levels, color correction, and sharpen. Of course some times it's more involved. With glamour type shots I sometimes remove blemishes and do some skin smoothing.

So with cars are there other steps you take to get the paint to look more "liquid"? I'm just amazed at the differences between some of the pre/post shots on here.

Anyone care to name their workflow of pp on auto shoots? Not a "how to" but more general steps.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this isn't transportation specific enough.

So with cars are there other steps you take to get the paint to look more "liquid"? Start with good light on it (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70290) & then
MOVE YOUR FEET! A <rant> of sorts. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=536323)
You shouldn't have to do much after, unless you're going for an effect.

Or you could just go wild...

The only thing I do to all my pictures is correct white balance if need be most of the time no. Then I do a resize, very light noise reduction, and finally unsharp mask.

Depends on the photo but I have some basic things I do on almost every photo.

I think with editing you need to find your own 'style'. You will see the big photo guys pictures and go "Oh PhotoManX took that". If your editing digitally on your PC/Mac you can try something and then click "edit, undo".

Feel out your editing program and develop your style ;)
