I have just got my first camera for my 19th 3 days ago. I have never really played with many camera before but im really into photography.

The camera i was given is the PowerShot SX10. I have taken many pictures and find it to be very clear however im really after some nice macro pictures like that are posted in the Macro sharing forum.

Im wondering if this camera is any good for Macro pictures and if it is what tips would help me for my next few pictures.

I have posted 3 pictures on the forum: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=605430

Hi & welcome to the forum.

The Canon's 0cm marco mode is really heaven send. It brings you up close to the subject.

Just have to watch your lens touching the subject and perhaps a mini tripod will help. The IS is good for macro, but a little bit of movement (hand movement or the wind blows) will change the subject to lens focusing distance. This may result in an out of focused photo.

there are times for my flowers shot, I had my right hand holding the camera and left hand holding the stem of the flower. The flower is sweep left & right by the breeze....

Hoped to see your works here too :0-)
