here is my website:
www.coolshotimagery.com
It started out as hobbyist site for fun with the help of a friend. Its done in dreamweaver and gallery2 I think. I'm thinking about moving to smugmug pro so I can start selling prints commercially when I do events.

Your buttons on the home page should be reorganized. Generally the most important stuff should be at the top. As it is now you're saying that your gear is the most important thing about your site and the photos are just an afterthought. It should be the images first, then you, then your gear.
I'd also try another image on the homepage. The flash is a bit harsh.

No one cares about your gear. You could (and should) eliminate that. Showing a bad snapshot of it is worse than just a list anyway.

yeah I only have 1 body so I used my old P&S to take that pick.

According to your forum signature it's an outdated photo anyway. So why bother?

so you think I should eliminate the gearlist completely and add a little story in the 'about me section' instead. Kinda like ' it started small with humble beginnings and a little rebel xt".. blah blah blah etc.

I think you should eliminate the gear list link. If you want to keep the page for forums like this one, by all means do so. It would be better if it was up to date though.
I'm not any good at About Me pages so I won't even go there.

The canon xt stuff was originally what I had and used. 99% of the shots on my website are canon images. I just got my d300 like 2 weeks ago I only have 1 outing and a few shots around the house.
