Finally had some sunshine today so I went to Pettibone Island to get some shots. These are 3 shot sets at ISO 200, -1 2/3, 0, +1 2/3.

nice shots Mitch and I especially like the shelter shots, the last one the best, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Doogie. Some more of that redstone they quarry around here. It's really nice stuff, but soft and doesn't hold up to constant freezing and thawing. A lot of buildings here used it years ago and are now crumbling. It looked like they were working on this building, maybe sealing the stone. :)

That last shot is real nice - awesome perspective - what lens did you take that with?

Thanks CameraBuff. I was using the 40D on a tripod with the Tokina 12-24 at 12mm. If you look at the picture above that. I was standing just inside that wet line on the ground, by that first rock. The wet is water dripping off the roof and I was inside that. The raised floor inside there made it interesting. Not sure what this pagoda is used for, never seen it in use at all. :)

Thanks Luigis. I didn't know how the ice would come out, but I'm happy with the way it did. It was only an inch thick, but looked frozen solid in the images. :)

Nice the last one really lends itself to HDR...

Thanks 82, it does. It was really dark up inside that ceiling. Both of th pagoda renders are from 5 shots each.

Nice series, Mitch.
Have to catch up in the forum since I've been gone for a month :)

Thanks for looking Helge. I noticed you were missing, but for a few posts here and there. You got a job on a tuna boat? ;)

No, been on 28 days vacation in the Philippines. Work on land on a LPG-plant well it's almost like a tuna boat ;) (2 weeks work/3 weeks home)

You really have started to get the hang on doing HDR's. And also using the UWA lens. I just love my 10-22 and is by far the most used lens in my bag.

Yeah, I love my Tokina. Never shot wide angle before, so it's new to me, and it's brought new life to my old 1D too. :)

Thanks Craig. I wasn't sure how ice would come out in HDR. It looks very natural looking. :)

a little less sky as it is not very dramatic.

I wanted to do that. As it is, I cropped these cause the sun was at my back and you could see my shadow. I guess a 16:9 crop might have done it.
