...for a few years now I've had the pleasure of shooting the local HS football team. Clovis , NM has a first class program and annually it seems the path to the AAAAA State Championship requires dealing with the "Beasts from the East" (side of the state that is).
...I've been a regular here for a while enjoying the top-notch efforts of y'all...to tell the truth I've been hesitant to share my efforts considering the quality of the work shared here.
...but I'd like to share a few of my attempts & I'd be interested in hearing what y'all have to say. Good or bad or indifferent...I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Personally I dont like the processing on #3,5, and 6.
As far as the images noise ninja is your friend. Also, the majority of the time photographing athletes in the back just doesn't look good. Faces are key.
Going back to the noise I ran the first image through auto profiled noise and this is what came out.

I lived in Clovis for 3 1-2 years, and still have several friends down there. They certainly do have a top notch football program.
I feel the same way. I am very new to sports photography, doing freelance work for my local weekly. I am hesitant to share any of my pics b/c so many on here are of such high quality. But thanks for sharing yours! Maybe soon I will get enough courage.

I don't think that is what this forum is about...not sharing your work due to such high quality photographs. I have been around for a little while and started just like many on here started. I put up my work back in the day and it was not that great, but with some patience and some help from some of the best sports shooters on here I have greatly improved. Ready through threads and stickies is priceless. Many times I think I have a great shot and post it and no one for days will even respond, but thats okay, I just kept shooting. This forum doesn't dictate what level photographer I am, it only helps me along the way. A large part of photography is bias, though there are guidelines and standards, it's a matter of taste. When I post a photo on here I subject it to criticism. I am not looking for people to hail the photos I take, I just want some feedback on how to improve. I expected that from the first picture I ever took, and I will suspect that when I am much much older, there is always something to improve.
Some advise for this forum; there are so many great people on here to learn from and listen to. There are also many that you might catch on a bad day if you know what I mean. Just be patient, if no one responds that is not a bad thing. There may be nothing to say about the photo, it could be just fine the way it is. Also remember it's Thanksgiving week and many are away from there computers.
Having said that (sorry for the rant),
All in all you captured good action. Most of the photos seem flat, whether it's from desaturation or camera setting. They are either really noisy or have so much noise reduction applied that they loose detail. White balance seems yellowish. Something seems a little off with the focus too. The shot of them coming out the tunnel is stellar!
Next time please post the specific gear you used for the shoot along with setting, this will help us help you! Also it doesn't look like you have the best lighting conditions to shoot in, just like most high school football. So even with the best equipment it's a challenge. I am not sure what you used but they look good. Get back out there are shoot!

I like the processing in #4 & 6. A face on the RB in #4 would be great.
#6 is awesome, would be interested in knowing how you did it.

Clovis got jammed again. LC probably going to win it. I don't feel bad for Clovis they have only won 26 championships.
