...honoring local influences and the day the music died...comments & critique appreciated...these first two are of Tommy Allsup...Buddy Holly's lead guitar for the Winter Dance Festival...he flipped a coin with the Big Bopper for a seat on the fateful plane...the Bopper got the seat...

Ritchie Valens made an appearence...

Roy Orbison brought back memories of music of the era...

Buddy Holly recorded here and along with Norman Petty created whats come to be known as the "Clovis Sound"...

Peggy Sue showed up...

as did Bobby Vee...and Johnny Preston

...There was even a rockin' representation of a young Elvis...

This is a annual event here in Clovis New Mexico to honor the musical heritage created here in Norman Petty's recording studio...it also honors the musicians lost the day the music died.

Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

Some nice captures here... Some are darker than others... good framing though... Is the B & W balance off slightly?.. Which lens did you use? Thanks for sharing.

You do have to be more precise focussing however, quite a few shots had the focus too far in front of the subject. (Might be technique, might be camera / lens related)
