Stoped this AM on the side of the Belt Pkway in brooklyn to catch this huge container ship about to pull under the Verrazano Bridge into NY Harbor. Hard to catch the feel from the pic, but these ships are huge - have the equivalent of a 9 story building on deck!

Excellent Gee, love it!
It reminds me of a scene in "Lawrance of Arabia" where a ship appears sailing in the middle of the desert.
It could use a bit of leveling though, just a bit up from the right.

Holy cow it almost looks like the ship is suspended in mid air, floating on air instead of water, neat. :)

Thanks, noticed the off level when I downloaded the shot. I would have gotten closer, but it was a 100 foot walk to the sea wall, was running late for work and decided to shoot from the rest area on the side of the highway...

BTW, Taken with the S1 - until I get some real zoom lens for the 10D it is still good for something!

Good point, maybe waiting for a tug to take it into the harbor?
