Good captures, bad post pros. Did you use noise reduction on these?

I did one default "swipe" w/noise reduction (Noiseware Professional Software). What would you suggest? And/or what pp would you suggest? Any? None? I need to know. Dependent on to where the photo is directed, I assume.

Thank (all of) you for the critique(s). This is what I want/need.

I wouldn't do the "default" swipe because if you look at your images, they are over-softened due to NR.

Since you shot at ISO 400, there is no reason to run NR - so either do it manually or just skip NR.

post one without any PP and we can go from there.

Yes, please use noise reduction as a last ditch step... don't do it because everyone around here keeps talking about it. It is a tool to be used in moderation and subtly.

fix your horizons and make them straight... i like the last one you posted but I dont like the pp done.... it looks like it is too saturated and such. but nice timing none the less...

I would try to be more conscious of the suns position to avoid harsh shadows across your players. Either pick the sun behind you or directly ahead of you shooting back lit.

BTW, D3 or D2 football is a great place to shoot. Well done. Should have mentioned that before.

Thanks man! I love D3 FB (D2, D1 also)! There's something about this level that attracts my curiosity and interest. One of the many great venues to experience, is Collegeville, MN, which is the home of St. John's ("The Johnnies"). I would suggest, a day in autumn when the leaves are changing colors. Get there early, have fun capturing the essence of the day!

how did you blurr the background for these pictures?

It's the effect given in this case from having a super-telephoto lens with a large aperture. The term is called bokeh. It's created by a shallow depth of field I would explain further but I have a paper to write. Type in Bokeh into the search at the top of the page and you should be able to find some in depth info.
