I had Sony P&S for couple years before I made the swing to DSLR when I got my Drebel I thought oh boy I will take great pictures now, I found out that I had to get use to and learn a lot of things but now 3 months later and with help from the great people here I have some of my photo's framed and hanging on the wall, what a great feeling. Before I only used to take pictures for memory sakes family, friends, pets you know only got the camera out maybe 1 or 2 a month for those special occasions. Now I live with my Drebel have even taken it to work just to have incase I see something while out doing my job. I think this Forum has helped me to find not only the photographer in me but the artist is starting to show to. Thanks everybody.

Excellent! Glad you're learning and growing on the path to being a great photographer. :)

I'd like to second that. The other day I was looking through some photos that I took last easter (shortly before I joined this forum). I can't believe how far my photos have progressed since then.

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice you have given me. :D

I'd also like to second this. My vision has developed a great deal due to this site. I can now see things before I even look through the view finder. My photography has completely transformed since I got my dRebel on 9/30/2003. It's hard to believe it's been that short a time. It's gone fast and almost 7000 pictures later I feel like I'm starting to hit a stride.

I attend a dance and music festival every February. Last year I took a lot of pictures. I would say that this is my best image from 2004:

This year my eye was completely different. Here are my favorites from 2004:

And I see the lens addiction has taken place. ;)
Great array of fine glass. :D

I don't think I can afford any new purchases for at least two years.
