So what do you guys think about this shot? I actually don't care for it yet but would like to get some comments or ideas. The item pictured is a solid bronze claw crushing a heart. My sister made it in high school 30 to 35 years ago. It started life as a wax carving then cast in oil sand and poured with melted bronze taken from old cash registers...
Anyway, when she moved away to college she gave it to me and I've had it sitting around in a box all these years. I want to give her a picture of it and this is my first attempt at shooting it. Her mood was very dark when she made it so I wanted to keep a dark mood in the final shot as well. Shooting it was a bit tricky too. It's not a small item by any means and being it's solid bronze it's weight makes it extremely awkward to work with.
