Is there a way to put the undo/redo icons on the menu bar in PS 8.0? I've always used PhotoImpact in the past and got used to it being there. Thanks !

Even if there were, it wouldn't do you any good since the Undo/Redo in PSCS doesn't work like it does in PhotoImpact. In PI, you can keeping hitting Undo to undo previous changes one at a time. With PSCS, you can only Undo one change. If you use the short cut key (CTRL Z), it will only flip-flop between the Undo and the Redo actions. To undo previous actions before the last one, you really need to use the History palette to take you back in time, so to speak.

How about the step backward & step foward in PSCS? You can keep going backwards with it.

Can you find a keystroke or record some keystrokes?

Leo, thanks for the tip on the History palette, I just played around with it a little after reading your post and it seems to do the job. I thank you!

gramps, I'll try that again, but I know I tried it before and it didn't let me go back but just a couple of times, but maybe I did something wrong, it's been known to happen.

Gary, you'll have to forgive me on this one, I don't Know what that is for sure. The only thing I know about the term (Keystroke) other then the obvious, is a program that records peoples actions on your computer without your permission, or maybe it was to check on what others were doing on your computer. IS that what your talking about? Probably not, hey? Not really a computer guru. :)

Photoshop has lots of keyboard short cuts..
I don't know if there are any for what your trying to do,. but I would not be surprised.

Thanks, Steve. I never knew such a command existed since I've been doing all my "backstepping" using the history palette. I'll probably continue using the history palette for most of the times I need it but it's good to know there's a "step backward" and "step forward" commands (along with short cut keystrokes) in case I'll ever need it in the future. :)

use the short cuts (ctrl+alt+z) to undo its much faster. You should also learn the other PS shortcuts as they allow u to edit sooooooo much faster once u get the hand of it.

"Does anyone have a master list of all the PS keyboard shortcuts?"

There is a list of shortcuts in the HELP menu of your version of PS. You can also make your own keyboard shortcuts.

David, after reading your post I looked for the list of keyboard shortcuts under the help menu but there not there. I'm using PS8.0 , should that be where to look? Thanks!

Try this, Help>Photoshop help>then scroll down to "Keyboard Shortcuts"

Or press the F1 key on your keyboard for the shortcut to get the HELP menu on the screen. Then scroll to "Keyboard Shortcuts"...

mapollo, thanks so much! That will be a big help to me. Thanks for not giving up on me, I should do more reading before posting, and I did do some, but wasn't finding what I was looking for. This should answer most of my questions anyway. Thanks again!
