This is of a stray cat that came to my house half starve to death and I started feeding her and than she had a litter of kittens so we had them and found good homes for them and than we had her fixed so she wouldn't have any more kittens than she became a inside cat and she has been the best cat ever she gets along with all dogs as you can see here with my son's Bulldog puppy.

Just wanted to share the picture.

I couldn't just let her starve to death, I never have been much of a cat lover until her, now she is so fat she just lays around, she still has a bad eye that gets infected off and on so I have to keep doctoring that up, I have a one year old Doberman, and 2 year old male English bulldog and a 9 year old Cavalier in mine house and they all get along with that cat and the cat gets along with them, I also have two stray cats outside that will not come to you so I just put food out for them to make sure they are getting plenty to eat. I am very much a animal lover and want let any cat or dog that comes around go hungry or hurt.

Your right Rachel, it is wonderful when people take responsibility and get their pets neutered/spayed.
I am working with a friends feral colony right now... trap, fix and release.
When the whole world starts to care, maybe then homeless and unwanted animals will have a chance.
Kudo's to you dcavldy2, hope her kittens will be as lucky!

I couldn't just let her starve to death, I never have been much of a cat lover until her

That's how it starts............... Always a dog lover and just tolerated cats (like you I would never turn anything away if it needed help). Then one day Mrs.d brought home a half starved semi-feral........... 18 months later she died of old age and I was straight on to the shelter for a kitten......... then of course she had to have a friend  Our dog didn't really have much of a say in the matter

Now 10 years on, no dog (he died), but still got the two cats, I'd get more but the first one doesn't get on well with anybody who's not her.

I just love seeing and hearing about positive stories with animals; especially strays (as I type this, one of my rescued cats, Roxy, is zonked out on my lap...).

Thank you for sharing.

Holly is an 11 month old Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle) and Felix is a 12 year old cat whose mother was a feral cat. When we adopted Felix, he was just a few weeks old and had been chewed up by a Doberman Pincher that had killed his sibling.

He surprisingly fell immediately in love with our adopted six month old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd/Wolf, Sara Lee. Although she was a young dog, she mothered him and they had ten great years together.

After we lost Sara Lee to cancer, we got, our Goldendoodle, Holly when she was seven weeks old. Felix and Holly have also bonded together. Maybe because Holly is about the same color as Sara Lee. In the image of Felix and Holly, you will see that his hair has been spiked by Holly licking him.

All of my pets have been rescued or strays. I will not go about it any other way. There are SO MANY homeless animals out there that need homes. I refuse to pay for any dog/cat unless it's considered a donation to the shelter. I will NOT buy a pet from any pet store or breeder. If anyone ever wanted any information on adopting an animal, or facts on getting the pet fixed, feel free to let me know.

What a shot!!

Great thread, all of you. I too am a stray adopter. My 16 year old kitty, who is winding down (kidney disease), came off the streets back in NC and a three year old black chow we found in the desert here in AZ -- best friends to our only non-stray, a Border Collie who was struggling to stay alive with 10 years of Valley Fever, rescued by the Chow's arrival. At 12 now, the Border Collie races around like a puppy!
