Fire bellied toad

A few shots of an interesting little toad. I have been trying to improve my composition - not easy when you have a curious jumping toad that won't stay still. Anyway this is the best I could manage with this little critter.
I had window light from one side and a desk light covered with paper towel to diffuse it a bit on the other side. I went for apertures between 5.6 and 8, trying to get a good bit of the toad in focus, but a nice sof background. Any constructive critiscism is welcome.

They are such neat critters. I always wanted them as pets!

I love little critters. Were you using a macro lens? The eyes seem to be in focus but not the whole body. Was your goal to get the whole body in focus? I have 3 diamondback terrapins and they're also a challenge to take a picture of.

I think you'll get more dramatic pictures if you take them in the dark and just have a spot light flash on your frog.

How many toads do you have I have 2 fire bellys of my own havent taken any pictures of they this is making me want to though nice work
