I know that most transactions on this forum are ConUS and Canada, but some of us buy (and sell) from the UK. There's a natural reluctance from US sellers to trust sending expensive equipment to the UK (although the distance from east coast US to California is no different) probably because of concerns about shipping costs, Customs&Excise duties, 'lost' items and being ripped off.

It would be really helpful for those of us that would like to buy from US sellers (despite the current exchange rate :() if those transactions that went smoothly could be recorded, so as to demonstrate that 'cross-pond' selling was worthwhile and risk-free (normal precautions of course).

I understand and accept that there is a reluctance to ship overseas because of a perceived inability to control and/or rectify the transaction. However, I would hope that all UK buyers who have a history with POTN are trustworthy, but I realise that there is still some doubt, hence my reqest for this 'feedback' section.

Thanks to all of you that have trusted me over the last year or so. I have very much appeciated buying from you and I hope that the satisfaction has been mutual.

Kind regards,
Simon aka Phideaux

I don't know because when I hit the link all I get is a blank page!

I hope that this isn't a reflection on the feedback given and received from POTN members ;)

It is the sticky at the top of MarketWatch.
Try this one http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28608

OK, now I need help. When I paste the link it removes showthread after forum and inserts ...ad.

The links you posted work fine for me. The ...ad thing is just a contraction of the full url for display purposes. The link itself is fine when you click on it.

Ahhh,

Sorry, it didn't stand out (neither did it to SoundsGood, whom I've just bought an item).

Yes I accept that I should have gone through all the options before placing my post, but I wonder how many other POTN members also miss this little gem?

Can it be put as a 'sticky' at the top of the 'buy' and 'sell' sections? To be honest there's no way that I would have found the feedback string from logging the 'Marketplace' section otherwise?

The Market Watch forum sorts differently from the For Sale forum. Thai is why the feedback section was moved to where it is now. While there has been some discussion to return it the decision has been to keep it in Market Watch.

I highly recommend users take advantage of the free feedback system known as heatware. It is mainly used on computer buy/sell boards but is easy to use and highly popular. Users register an account and then leave feedback on their transactions and receive feedback.
