Yes, you read correctly!...I just returned today the Canon S5IS because I didn't like it.
Since I was disatisfied with the S5, I then decided to get an SLR with video capacity.
I know that there's the Nikon D90 that's got video, but its too expensive. So, now I must simply wait until Canon or others come out with what I'm looking for.
I create a lot of slideshows and like to combine photos with some video, but if anyone has info on what company's got an SLR with very good video, I'd really appreciate some info.
Thanks

I use the G9 for small video shorts, it has a 1024x768 15fps mode.

The Canon 5D II is the only Canon dSLR (as far as I know) that does this.

Or March. The EOS 500D and 1500D are scheduled for announcement in a few months.

Yeah...if the D90 is too expensive you're kinda screwed. The new Rebels tend to be only a couple hundred cheaper.

That's right, in the world of photography (digital or otherwise) -> YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY!

It's more than double the price of a D90, so.. yeah.

Collin85,
This is the first I've heard of the Canon EOS 500D and the 1500D.....do they have video capability? I'm waiting for an SLR that would let me take more than one hour of video.
I'd like to combine some video in my photo slideshows. As for the Nikon D90, from what I've read, it can't take video's much longer than 20 or 30 minutes. So now, I simply must wait....

They're upcoming models which will certainly have video capability. I doubt it will be able to record 1 hour+ of video though. File compression is usually an issue with video on digital cameras and an hour's worth of videos (even VGA in H.264 on the 5D II) seems to take up 8GB+. For this reason the video length is usually gimped to around half an hour max.
Also note the Canon 500D won't be much cheaper than the D90. Also there is no guarantee that there will be any sort of reliable autofocus available in video mode on those two upcoming models.
If you seriously need to record video uninterrupted for an hour, get yourself a camcorder.
PS - you need to reconsider posting that pasta shot in all your threads. It often confuses alot of people and possibly makes them think you're crazy.
