My wife and her mother posed him up for our Christmas cards as a Christmas present (not shown) and here with just a santa hat on (about 4 1/2 mos). The other pic is a candid of him I happened to capture when I was lying on the floor with him (prob 3 1/2 mos though looks much older) while he was learning how to hold his head up while on his belly (hence the face of exertion).

Nothing fancy...no post production or exotic lenses. I just used our Canon SD1000 in my pic. Not sure what cam my mother in law has. Getting a new computer soon to handle photo/video editing of the baby. Would love to learn a bunch of cool post production tricks along the way.

Would love to hear any good suggestions.

Thank you very much!

I read something about that but must have missed it when I made the post. I'd definitely be ok with image editing. Not sure if I can activate it retroactively but I'll do a search right now. Image editing and/or tips would be great.

The SD1000 is a point and shoot but with a bunch of settings and modes. I've set the exposure to be as quick as possible but I still have a tendency to overexpose my pics a lot. Either overexposed with the flash or too dark without. Nothing in between. I'll be searching that as well.

The first one just needs a little pop. the second one just needs a little less noise... in my humble opinion... I am sure others who are much more skilled and experienced than I could explain how to correct this issue, I would just photoshop :)

Santa baby is always a must... I would maybe try getting him a little further away from the background and if you used point and shoot on this one maybe help those wrinkles out a little with the iron or use black instead of white. I have also found using wrapping paper in a BIG pattern, like candy cane stripe for example, taped to the wall behind works well as a festive inexpensive option. Because it come on a long roll I have taped it high and unrolled it down the wall and onto to the floor and just covered the part on the floor with an inexpensive piece of plexi from the DIY. It makes a nice reflection and keeps the paper straightened not wrinkled or wripped. But, his expression is very adorable, he looks like a very happy guy! :)

The look on his face is priceless... the struggle, I remember when mine would work so hard to get where they were going :) cute cute
