Responding to a post got me thinking. If I wanted the newest, I bought it.

For example....Here's what I bought new technology.

350D when it came out $1,000 +. A year or so later I could have saved $400 or more by waiting.

5D $3,700 new. I could have saved $1,000 or more by waiting a year.

40D $1,250 or something like that new. I could have saved $400 or more by waiting.

XH A1 video cam. $4,100 kit. Probably could have saved $1,000 or more by waiting there.

So in all my buy the newest technology from Canon, I probably could have saved $3,000 or more......that is if I had waited.

Now in this strange economy....I've got one for Canon...BTW Ford, GMC and the others use it....

It's called customer loyalty....

So, since I bought all this stuff new technology....

How about if Canon does a buy three get one(new technology) free deal(or at least a really good deal)??

So the next thing I buy Canon I get a super deal?

Happy Thanksgiving.

Having fun here.

Maybe the real solution is to buy used?

No, it is like computers...if you insist upon being at the bleeding edge of technology, you will pay a premium for that insistence, compared to someone who waits even a year! Dual core processors carried a premium not that many years ago, now quad core processors carry that premium. If you waited until now to buy the dual core you would have saved money. Heck, I could have saved about $200-300 on my 40D simply by waiting six months!

You expect something free from Canon?!! Cheer up! I understand that a simple lobotomy can cure such delusions!

Well, if that's the case then Canon can send me a 17-40L for free, you know, for long term testing purposes. :D

I thought the 40D was going to be the greatest thing before it came out. Like OMG... Live view!?!

Now I could get a used one for about half the price as when they were brand new. And that's what I just might do, since the 50D isn't any better for ISO performance and I don't want to deal with over 10mp. :)
