So I finally got around to taking the shots Ive been wanting to take forever! These were not edited, aside from the border and my initials. I am open to suggestions/critiquing, as Im trying to get better.

I really like them.

Did you use a filter for the "star" effect on each light? It is a little bit too much to my taste (which doesn't mean it's bad ;-))

Tilted - horizons needs to be fixed. Just a tad too bright for my taste for a night shot, maybe half a stop less would be good. Many of the signs are almost unidentifiable because of this. Like the composition, though.

#2 doesn't show up for me, btw, but #1 and #3 do.

I think I accidentally deleted #2 on Flickr when I uploaded a different version of it. The US Bank sign that is hardly readable is a hard sign to get I think. Ive seen many night shots of Cincy, and not many have had the US Bank sign readable. I didnt use a filter to get the "star" lights, I think I read somewhere to go with a small f/stop to get this effect, which is basically what I shot with all night, well all 12 shots. I will go back down in a few weeks to try it out again. Thanks for the tips though.

As one person pointed out, both photos are severely tilted from left to right. Also, neither photo really grabs my attention. They are photos of a city skyline, but I really don't see anything that grabs me as a central subject.

Cinci is a beautiful city (been there only once, but I'd love to go back). I think there's a lot of potential there. It just needs some careful planning and some straight horizons.

Thanks, I know thats one of the biggest problems I have with a tripod, getting it straight! Not much was really lit up last night, which kinda disappointed me, but Ive been dying to go down and get this shot, so I was at least gonna get what I could! I will try to remember these tips and suggestions the next time I go back.
