Today I decided to head out after dark for some night shots. I stopped by 2 parks tonight and took a total of 8 shots. Enjoy. Here are 5:

I really like the light and composition of this one but am disappointed with the fence in the background.

This was taken at the first park I stopped at just after getting out of the car. The posts were asking to be photographed.

This is my favourite photo. Something about the light and frost/snow on the tree is mesmerizing.

This is the second park I stopped at. I took three variations of this shot and this was the best. I really like the blue lights. It's a shame about the one light inside the structure.

I think they're all great, the colors really add a lot to the image. But I think I like 2 and 4 the best!

Theyre all nice, but the cold starkness of #3 is really great!

nice set. honestly, i like the fence in the first photo. i don't think it detracts compositionally or distracts the viewer from anything. furthermore it adds to an urbanesque feel to the photo, otherwise one may as well think you took it in a forest :)

Thanks a ton everyone. Jaykue, you have a good point about the fence. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the theme for this shoot was 30 second exposure time. All these are shot at 30s. I wish Canon would increase the time before you it goes to bulb mode. IMO, you should be able to chose a custom time and enter any amount of time. 2 hours if you like.

Oddly, you said that the posts in #2 were asking to be photographed. It's not the posts, at all, that grab my attention. It's the way the trees stand out against the sky. Something about that just has an eerie feel to it. I really like it.

A very impressive set.

Thank you. I agree. After taking the shot and processing it at home, I've really come to appreciate the colors behind the trees.

Great work. I really like how you brought all the color in.

Thank you. I actually didn't add any color to these. The color you see is how it was when I was there. It was quite remarkable.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that it was all from PP, I just really like how you captured the scene with so much color. I have had a hard time making my night shots half as interesting.

Thanks. PP does help bring it out though but it all boils down to being at the right place at the right time. I think that is what I love most about photography. Capture the moment.
