I have a C8 and have been trying to sell it to make more funds available to upgrade to a nice eq mount and APO refractor. It hasnt sold yet. I did come upon $400 that I can spend on a new scope or wait to see if the C8 sells.
Is there any good scopes for $400 ? I have used my c8 for mostly planets and moon stuff. I want to get into more astrophotography.
thanks
Dave

Dave, it'll be hard to beat the Onyx at that price range. ED scopes while not completely color corrected are very nice and should produce some quality results for you.
Have you decided on a mount yet?

I also should mention free shipping. So for 359 and I could threw it up ontop of my Celestar 8 that tracks it should get me started. ?? I will look for a eq mount with go to when the C8 sells.
Is there a better deal than that ? Williams or scopeview ? My discount is over tonight. So I need to act fast to get the 10% off

I did a search on Pricegrabber and the best I came up with was $399 so your price is a good one.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with scopeview or Williams.

I have the Onyx and I love it. Mostly observing so far (I'm still learning how to align my mount). It is an APO and produces great, contrastry, pin-point stars when viewing through it. I think it's a great first scope. And the fit and finish on it is top notch.
