Cold? You bet. Yesterday was quite windy and chilled. I admire these guys for their tenacity and passion... I'm not sure when the dragon boat festival will be an Auckland event. They have it here every year.

There are some great looking pictures in your gallery. The slow shutter gives a great sense of movement.
Were you shooting from the shore or from a boat? Some shots look like you're right amongst the action.

I was shooting from the shore, with a 70-200+1.4 extender, mostly. ;)

That's a few from last year's Rose Festival here in Portland, Oregon. I enjoy shooting the teams as they put so much effort into it. I'm looking forward to the races starting in our area this spring.
