Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me edging in to the EOS forum with a G3 problem but I've gotten no response over there. I have a hot pixel that shows up in an original jpg file (compressed in camera) but does not in a RAW file. When I compress RAW to jpeg it still doesn't show up. Why would this be? The pixel does not show up in complete darkness. Here is a link to the three photos blown up.

Thanks,

LT

Your RAW converter (Photoshop CS plugin?) can have inbuilt hot pixel removal.

No prob, LT, but I did move it to the Post Processing forum. Left re-direct in EOS, so they'll still see it. Pekka's advice (as always) is spot on. Hot pixels are nothing more than an annoyance and easily remedied.
