Thanksgiving sunset

I took this shot on Thanksgiving. Please, please be brutal.

There's too much dull sky at the top, and not enough to hold the eye in the treeline. With a crop and some processing, the shot can be improved, but without better colors, it's really kind of average. Here's the kind of post-processing that will help:

I felt that saturating the colors that much would make it look, well, over-saturated.

It sure can look oversaturated, and you may choose not to go that route. But consider all of your options, most particularly shooting again at another time when the natural colors are more rich.

By the way, where in Jersey do you live? I'm at school down in Pomona right now, but I live in Allentown, near Six Flags.

I'm right about a mile from the point where the Turnpike and Parkway cross in the center of the state.

Love the gradient in the sky and the way the sun is barely showing. Great shot!!!

I like #1. It gives the cold and drab feeling of Autumn.

#2 is too warm.
