Love it!! Once when I was walking in Yellowstone, I went around a pile of boulders and found myself inside a herd of these guys. i scrambled up the rocks and stayed there until I felt safe enough to go back. This picture brought back memories.....

Thanks Jessica, Maureen, Maz, Alan, Jay, Jeff, and Stan, :D
I shot this at Elk Island National Park. Not to far from where I live. Maureen I know how you feel. The same sort of thing happened to me once :o :D . Alan This big bull wasn't mad yet, just protecting his herd and letting me know that. Jay there was no fence but I did have my truck between him and I.
Glad you all liked it.

I think it looks more like boomer, sparker1. If you look at the boomer1959 avitar and the bison they sort of have the same portrait pose. j/k
(excellent photo boomer)
thanks,

Dave you are killing me . . . all my Bison shots . . . suck. I just don't know why my luck is so bad with them. They can move FAST, but most of the time they just stand there. However, I am yet to be happy with anything I have take thus far. Nice photograph . . . my day will come.

RJ there is nothing that sucks about your wildlife photos that I have seen.
As for shooting Bison I find that it is difficult to get the right exposure to get detail and not underexpose everything else. I have alot of shots that didn't work also. I got lucky on this one.

Beautiful capture! He is definately keeping an eye on you.
Perhaps you can emulate IanD and use a carrot to give to give him a smooch and he will let you get real close!!!
