2000 census

The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.85.
In the city the population was spread out with 22.9% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.4 males.

About 12.8% of families and 20.1% of the population were below the poverty line (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_line), including 20.4% of those under age 18 and 10.5% of those age 65 or over.

So, let me know what you think of this set as a whole I guess, as there is too many to actually give a real critique.

All photos were taken in about an hours worth of shooting today.

no more than two or three at a time will give you better C&C.

Agreed. It's hard to comment on so many pictures at once. As a series though, it's interesting.

Also, swing. That was the weird part. I saw about 75 parked cars, and less than five or so people actually on the street. It was a sunday at like 1pm and the town was absolutely 100% dead. Very eerie. No stores open except for a gas station. Nothing.

Thats kind of why I like the census stats. They are all in the past tense on wikipedia because they were done in 2000, so it sounds and looks like a modern day ghost town.

Interesting series. I like the tap on wall best.

They are interesting. The only thing that jumps out at me is on the first one, the crop should be below the upper windows or maybe above the upper windows. The way it cuts through them bothers me.

#1 I dont really like the cropping eaither.
#2 & #5 are my favorites

I agree that it has a very empty deserted feeling to that town. I do like the series though.

It could be any Rural Town USA, what about your pics says Wallace Idaho? #11 has potential from a different perspective.
