Remote Switch RS-60E3-450D

I have been reading reports (or typing errors) that the Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3 is not compatible with the 450D, yet it is listed in the System Map (p176) Canon Instruction Manual.

So my question is has anybody used this remote switch on a 450D before I part with my cash. And if so do you recommend it.

it is compatible. ive used it before when i had my xsi. ive also used the RC1 wireless remote.
