I have been approached by a father to produce a video of his daughter who plays high school basketball. They want to send the videos to college coaches to promote her for a possible scholarship. It has been several years since I have shot basketball video and since producing these types of DVDs.

For those that are doing this type of work, I have a few questions. What is the content of the video, these days? How long are the videos? What is the going rate (in Ohio)?

They will want me to shoot the video, as well as, edit. Any ideas or help, to bring me back up to speed, will be appreciated. Thanks.

I did a few of these a couple of years ago.
I charged $65/hour for acquisition, min 2 hours per shoot.
$65/hour for editing for footage I shot and $95/hour if they supplied the footage.
Videos were between 5 and 7 minutes long. It usually took less than 2 hours to edit.

The content was primarily of the athlete performing their sport. the ones I made were field hockey.

Sometime I do for free. But I'm not in Ohio.
