I had a fantastic time shooting my first Pakistani wedding this weekend. It was a two day event, and was simply amazing. The colors, the food, the dancing, the people... I wrote more about it on my blog (http://www.readyforyourcloseup.com/blog).

Beautiful! Love the colors and the details. I particularly like the lighting in #3. Would you mind sharing your lighting setup? BTW, I'm from Sacramento as well and would love to get more experience w/ wedding photography. I'm very interested in assisting as a second shooter =) . I really like your style of photography and would love to learn. Thanks!

These are awesome. I love 3 and 4 especially.
Can you please explain to me your lighting setup on these? I see a flash behind them, but how do you get their front to be properly exposed? Another flash in front?
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
For shots 3 & 4, we were originally supposed to meet at their place a 3:30 and head to the river nearby for some sunset shots with fall foliage... the groom was running late, so I did some outdoor shots with the bride, and then we met the groom back at the house, just after sunset. So we set up in their backyard - the lighting is one AB800 as a key light, it's bounced off the back wall of their house, which was very light yellow (custom WB) and provide a nice soft fill (and also lit up some of the trees in the backyard which I used as background for some of the other shots). The backlight is a Vivitar 285HV, which was gelled with 1/4 CTO to almost match the key light - it's a bit cooler, which is what I was going for. Everything is fired by PWs.

I am so happy to see these photos, I have to shoot photos at a pakistani wedding in a few weeks and it's my first actual wedding session, so i'm nervous. Your photos are awesome, which settings did you use to photograph the little girls in the group?
