It looks like Ryan.s beat me to it with the UWA shots (and his are far sharper!) but there's some below from this weekends Grizedale stages.

Please bear with my panning shots, I got the safe shots in the morning and practiced my panning in the afternoon from the inside of a corner with the UWA, my first "proper" attempt at panning, ok I know 1/160 isn't slow at all really! Hope you enjoy.

#1 - Warm up shot (the drinks were chilling in the snow)

#2 - One of the Kankku Scoobies

#3 - I'm not to sure they were OK tbh! I missed the flames, lasted about 3 seconds, grr!

#4 - Michael O'Brien with Richard Cooke Co-driving

#5 - I seemed to be better tracking them after they'd gone past me!

#6 - Steve Petch going for it. The practice appeared to be working, more of the car is sharp!

#7 - The shot after this one had a lovely sharp shot of a flying leaf with a very blurred car in the background!

#8 - And towards the end the mist dropped again, swapped to the outside of the corner.

Nice. I like #7. I think it would be even cooler if the front of the car was in focus instead of the rear. But overall, nice work.

Great captures Greg,bw! I was there myself ,good scenes in the sun,not so when the blooming fog came down, have to ask though ,why have you used a UWA? Am I missing something here?

Hey Merlyn,

You're not missing anything at all, I only took my 70-200, 1.4x T-Con and the UWA out with me, bit of hiking so thought I'd travel light. Once we'd moved from the morning spot and found the afternoon corner I eyed it up with the tele but there was a lovely big stone (about 4 foot diameter) set below road level smack bang on the inside of the corner (with a couple of trees shielding incase any cars decided to ditch it) and I thought I'd try panning with the UWA.

Pic 4 is at 14mm, Pic 6 is at 12mm, Pic 7 is at 11mm - that gives you an idea of how close the cars were - I wouldn't have actually been able to fit them in the frame without the UWA.

The fog from the top of the forest looked brilliant, glad we climbed above it for the morning! Afraid I didn't get any of the front of that car in fccus, but hey, that's what practice is for :)

Thanks for the comments everyone - I'll see if there are any better ones when I filter through some more.
