Is this how I vote?

1st: "Shrub" Biffarama
2nd: "Neighbor's Yard" Bobj1
3rd: The A590 f/8 one with the holly leaf Lotto

I think I correctly identified the ones you meant. Vote for the people; there's less ambiguity.

I'm just curious. Biffarama, what camera did you use for you shot. It is beautiful. Thinking about getting a compact to carry along when I can't bring the pro gear. :)

What exactly is that? I mean what is causing that effect?

Thanks and I apologize if this is something I should know.

I mean is that fog or a photoshop effect or what exactly. I just don't know exactly what I'm looking at.

I just assumed it was a tree with lights sticking out of the snow...
a cool shot though

No Photoshop effects at all. That's a shrub in our front yard that we light every holiday season and I took that picture with my S3 IS from about 30 feet away in the doorway of my house with the camera on a tripod.

I took about 20 shots playing around with the settings on the camera and that's the one I liked the best. There isn't really any other light source near the bush so I think that's what gives it that kind of ethereal look.

I had not noticed that you posted the results in a new separate topic. I was waiting and wondering what was up. Maybe Biffarama didn't notice either. Good contest.

I hadn't noticed that the results were posted in a separate topic. I was wondering what the new challenge was going to be and who the winner was. Any ideas Biffarama?

Sorry about that. It said something in the rules about posting the winners in a separate thread, but I guess if people didn't know about it they may not see it.

If you mean this rule...
*Winner chooses new contest topic.
I think it means something else.

So, is the Challenge just dead, or what?? So much for having fun, I guess.

Jon

In the past, if the first place winner failed to start a thread in a reasonable period of time, the previous contest judge has designated the second place winner as the new contest starter. FWIW.

Oh, and i merged the contest results in with the thread.
