I'm slowly, yet surely (I hope), getting this whole live-band photography thing figured out. Some of these were taken with the pop-up flash on my 300D, which I diffused with some homemade diffusers.

These are far from perfect, but they're a Helluva' lot better than the first crop I took:

it can be very difficult to capture these types of photo and retain the atmoshere - you have done a good job

Thanks, etaf, although I'm still not as far along as I'd like to be in terms of mitigating the need for a flash. I just haven't found the proper mix of ISO, f-stop, and shutter speed.

In time, though... In time.

hi could you post the exposure data, as im going to be shooting a band soon, and id just like to know what kinda settings to use.

You can find the exposure details out in file browser in PS, when u activate an image it shows you the exposure data at the bottom of the browser

this is a really good forum, I been doing band photography lately and this thread has helped a lot. I'll post my results for u guys to look at later. I use 300D 28-105 540ez flash (on Manual)
