These shots are some I've taken this year in a span from April-October. Mostly CSX,since that is the closest rail line to me.

Norfolk Southern westbound in New Albany,IN. Was a bit of a task running up the city park's side of the flood wall(it's pretty steep and it was 90*F outside) I like this shot because I'm actually a bit higher than the train in terms of elevation, and I like having the sign in the shot as well.

CSX Train Q275 on an April day in Coral Ridge,KY. Milepost 12 on the old Louisville & Nashville Main Line. Q275 is bound for Nashville.
The rest of my shots I'm posting here are from a little town near I-65 called Glendale,KY. It's on the same CSX line as the above photo, but about 30 miles further south. It's my favorite spot to catch a train, thanks to the friendly people, and two railroad themed resturants right by the tracks.

CSXT Train K514(grain train) heads towards Louisville. There's something I personally like about the photo, though I can't figure it out.

CSXT Train Q574 with six locomotives at the point rolls through the grade crossing, dwarfing the parked cars along the tracks.

The area really favors shots of southbounds(this is one),but I'll still try to shoot northbound trains as well.

Last shot, also a southbound train. I think it's one of my only pictures where the entire train can be seen. Trains roll through Glendale at 55 mph,so you get little warning with northbounds, and plenty of warning with southbounds when they approach. Having a scanner helps, too.
Enjoy the pics,
