Thanks guys.

I had one of those great days out. Near these flowers I saw an animal path that led up to and over a wall. I looked closely at the wall and could see where the moss was worn off by the animal clambering over - I think it was a badger track. Anyway I peaked over the wall and saw two hares 'boxing' - something I have never seen before. I watched them for about 5 minutes (wishing I had a DSLR and lens) before the headed off over the hill. Then to cap it all off a Goldcrest came down to a branch so close to me I could almost touch it - I'd never seen one in the flesh (or feather) before.
