I know this is probably a silly question before I ask it, but apart from radio-astronomy, are there such things that allow astrophotography during the day?

I only ask because after being poorly prepared for the Venus occultation by the moon last night I'm going to start regularly using http://www.neave.com/planetarium to plan any future events like this, and on December the 29th at approximately 10am, Jupiter will be occulted by the moon, and by around 11:30am it will fully appear from behind the lunar crescent. However, it'll be in day-light! Mercury will be in the frame as well it looks like.

However, in the early evening on the 29th of December the crescent moon will appear near Jupiter and Mercury.

Two days later the moon will be very near Venus and Neptune.

Two days later it'll be near Uranus.

Just posting this early "heads up" in case people are interested.

I found this website with some great astro images and info:

http://www.schursastrophotography.com/

They have lots of great images, articles, etc... And they have a section devoted to daytime astro photography with examples!

Wow, that's interesting...thanks for that link. (I've seen that site before, but didn't notice the Daytime Section...not that I would have been looking.)

On the 29th the sun won't be that high in the sky, what with it being this time of year, but the moon and Jupiter might just be bright enough. Cool! :)
