Oreo is cute. Here is my take on the pic:

Black dogs are tough to photograph....period. Have one myself. They need good lighting, both outside and in. I personally like to photograph black dogs facing the sun outdoors. The flash doesn't work in this photo.

The dog isn't looking at you, only really see one eye. IMO, you can see a dog's soul through the eyes, get those peepers looking at you and stay at the dog's eye level or slightly above.

The focus should also be on the dog's eyes, it is on the nose.

It is okay for a snapshot, but I think if you look around on this forum and find some photos you like, try and copy them, Oreo seems like he would be happy to pose.

Black dogs are difficult to take pics of, I have a Black Lab and a Lab Shepherd mix, without a flash they are a black spot in the picture, with a flash the pics don't look that great.
