some of my train related pics.
these were all taken with my fuji finepix 3800.
location
Boone, IA for the most part. either in town at the boone and scenic line station or west of town at the kate shelley high bridge.
the CNW used to be the rail here as i grew up. then a few years back UP bought them.
there are a couple pics from upper WI as i headed that way for a car audio competition and the shots were there so i took them.

the ones labeled trainstuff of course
no editing except for resizing done.
hope to get much improved shots this year with my 20D.
enjoy and of course tell me what ya think. good bad or ugly.

Nice series on the train stuff. thanks for sharing. I really like the ones with the old rails. Of course nothing beats the ones with the engines and cars in them, but that goes without saying

I have had the good fortune to see for myself the high bridge. It is just as I remember it. Thanks for letting us view it.

thanx.
the high bridge is a site to behold. both from the wagon wheel bridge where i took that pic and from underneath the bridge. if by chance you get to stand at either end and look across you will be amazed.
google kate shelley high bridge. will make for some good reading.
in Moingona which is a dinky town down the road aways is a little museum about kate shelley. that is just half a mile or so from mom's house. so i will have to add that to the list of pics to get while at home as well.
dad has 36+ years on the RR. started with the CNW and now it is UP. he says when i was younger we got to see across it many times. but i do not recall.
pufferbilly days is a big celebration of trains that happens in Boone, IA in sept. as a kid they used to get a steam engine. 1385 is the number, will have to see if i have a scan of that, that would make several trips a day out and across the high bridge. that was cool as heck. then of course as time passed things changed.
the scenic line is the other big rail draw around central IA. that is where the other pics were taken. if in the area it is well worth the stop. the day i got those pics i bet i spent the better part of the afternoon just walking around. pretty sure this year i will get on the train again since i have a better camera. been about 4 years since i road it.

since i have been here in MN i have been to the steamthreshers reunion in rollag mn once. that was cool too as they used to have a steam engine that went around the grounds. of course there are all kinds of other steam things and tractors if interested in that. again another hit this year with the new camera. will go by myself but would be better with good company.

not a salesman here just sharing some good photo ops.
will see what other train shots i have.

well i changed the names a bit. as before i just put them online to get them there.
but have renamed them with more descriptive names. as well as added some.
link in first post of this thread.
i did have a pic of the 1385, but it is poor.
gave a shout to my mom to see what she might have.
