Yeah, bummer. They were only about 10 minutes from me, so it was handy if I needed something in a hurry. They were planning on opening a big new showroom. Obviously the economic downturn coincided with them trying to expand too fast. A great shame.

Pity, they were often best on price. But I did a collection there once and found they appeared shakey two years ago.

I bought my 40D from them! Best price on the web at the time and equal in price to the USA!!! My brother used them too.
I think most small independant stores are feeling not only the credit cruch but the web is ruling at the moment.
A shame though :(

I bought a 20D off them some years ago. Excellent price and good service. I agree, it's a shame that they've gone out of business.

 - Didn't know about this. Bought my Siggy 70-200 from them a couple of years ago.

I wonder what they're planning to do with all their stock. A Woolies-like sale would be quite attractive.

They already had a 25% off sale going although i had no idea they'd actually shut down.
I'm suprised they're the first to go (my money was on Jessops) but they certainly won't be the last.

I bought my first "long" lens from Jessops in the Metro Centre - a Canon 75-300 USM (woo!)
I've learnt many things since then..amongst them are.1 Jessops suck. 2. So did that lens :D

75-300, oh dear they were a bum lens
Actually I bought my Id at Newcastle but only because they price matched RGB in Middlesbrough and it was easier than going down there

Well normally I'd agree that Jessops are prety much a joke, but just now and then they come up with a really decent deal. I bought a 24-105 from them last June with a 10% discount and then another £50 off from Canon. This came out at around £580 which wasn't bad at all.
But most of the time they're way too expensive.
