I had never heard of it until I went to the link in the first post. Seems like it could be a useful group to be a member of.

Well, I've *heard* of it, but haven't been involved. I'm in a local business networking club, and some of the folks are familiar with letip. Lots of comments about too much process, having to pay for something that should just be a friendly small business owner get-together, etc, etc.

Yeah, I had similar thoughts in reading over the website. I mean, they had FINES if you didn't refer your quota of people for the month, they have a Sergeant-in-arms (to toss you out if you didn't give enough "LeTips")

The weekly breakfast meetings started EXACTLY at 7:04 AM (or something like that.....)

The woman who invited me did say she gets tons of work through it, but I'm just a part-timer right now.

I would recommend it. At least give it a few months. I belonged years ago. I was in a different field at the time.

If that's off-putting, I'd suggest looking around locally for other networking groups... maybe Google can help. I'm sure I get fewer "tips" from the group I'm in, but I don't get drawn & quartered if I'm late for the meeting, it costs me nothing, and I have a nice breakfast every week with folks that are becoming friends.
