First of all, welcome to the forum!

The G10 has only been out a short while. Buy one - go for it and have a lot of fun!

I bought a G9 almost a year ago. Sure, It has been superseded by the G10 but my G9 is still an awesome camera and I am very happy with it.

If they do in fact release another in the G series, and you wait to buy one, it too will soon become yesterdays model.

Don't wait. The G10 will be a great camera for years after you buy it.

I retired a G2 in favor of the G9. The G2 was still an awesome camera when I sold it.

for almost 2 thousand bucks ( malaysian currency ), I think it`s cool to wait for another year for a 'refined' compact camera, cos i`m so in a tight budget heeeeeee

Refined as in, video recording in HD an what not. I like the calender view in LX3.

I bought 2 G10s at only RM1780 a piece. One I converted permanently to shoot Infrared. I wanted to buy a G9 last year but decided to wait for a bit longer than for the G10. No regrets buying a G10.
Go on spoil yourself and go get one. You'll love it.
