i don't really have much experience with portraits, but i was so bored at work today [university photo lab] and i had my camera so i decided to mess around in the studio. i didn't think this was too special at first but a few people i've showed have thought otherwise so i though i'd get your opinions.

not my camera but it worked as a good prop -_-

I like how you played with the colors a bit.........it gives it character. There is a bit of a motion blur in the arm, which doesn't really matter as the main interest is sharp (which is the Pentax!!) ha ha ha!!! j/k.

Good job.

I didn't notice the motion blur until Ro1 pointed it out - but now that he did that's all I'm looking at! LOL

Otherwise I think it's a fab photo! A very good self-portrait in my opinion - but I'm just a hobbyist - so you might want to ignore me :D

yeah, i had a feeling my arm wasn't going to be in the frame so i tucked it in at the last second. hehe. i didn't think it was too bad since i'm not takin a pic of my elbow but i see how it could butg some people :]

I think it's very good.

The interesting thing is though... the Pentax logo is very sharp but your eyes are less sharp. Also for some reason (probably to do with the classical rules of composition), the eye is drawn more to your mouth than your eyes which is weird.

But I think it's great anyway - very good portrait. And good use of colour.
