Does anyone know if the SX10 will accept a telephoto lens (with adaptor)? I use a TCON 1.7 with my S2 and G9, would like to know if it can be fitted to the SX10.

If you go to Lensmate.com, you can put your name on a list to be notified when the adapter is ready. It will take 52mm filters and a Raynox macro lens.

Lensmate hasn't said anything about using an auxiliary lens with their adapter. Since it's apparently going to have to be bayoneted on the lens, we're talking about adding a lot of mass, loading down the zoom motor. It may not be able to take the load.

Actually, they do mention the Raynox DCR-250 Macro lens on their website.

Now that the Lensmate adapter is out, any idea if a lightweight 2x or 3x telephoto lens will work? If so, will it actually increase the zoom from 20x to 40x? Nothing was mentioned about this on Lensmate's site.
An example of this is something I found on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Concepts-Telephoto-Lens-Threads/dp/B000PIHC0S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239580371&sr=8-1).
Thanks.

I wouldn't try it. The lens adapter relies on a fairly lightweight plastic bayonet mounting on the lens; if Lensmate thought you could attach a teleconverter safely they'd say so. They do for the adapters for the A series cameras. Also, you'd seriously degrade quality with a teleconverter attached.

The adapter is great for what it's intended, which is 58mm filters and the Raynox 250 macro lens. In my opinion, it would never support a teleconverter.
