Started with the 85 1.8, but needed more reach. Switched to the 70-200, ISO 3200. Ran them through a little noiseware...and here's what I got. I know the background isn't the best, but it wasn't even my kid playing....just a little practice. I think they came out pretty good. Thanks for looking.

All looks good exposure wise. I'd crop the image way tighter to remove top background and blurry elbow in bottom right and get the attention on the girl with ball. Like so...

Thanks for the edit...I agree on the crop. I was just happy I got useable images at 3200 iso....I love my camera!

i'm happy to see the quality of this photo, am getting a a 40d for xmas (i already bought it :)) and already have the 70-200 F2.8L IS, i've been asked by my uncle to shoot my cousins volleyball and basketball, this gives me hope that some might actually turn out (i didn't even bother trying to get shots with the rebel xt/70-200 combo, i knew the quality wouldn't be there)

Wow.. that was at ISO 3200!! I'm impressed. I also have a 40D, but I have never shot that high. Good to know that I could get results like that.

Thanks for the replies....I try not to be affraid of high ISO...I would rather clean up a little noise than have motion blur for sports....and I, by no means, have the time or patience to sit in front of photoshop for hours fixing pictures. This is just a little NR from a free program.
