This is the town that CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON took place, if you watched that movie, you may recognize the water pond scence of the 4th picture.

I think those building is roughtly over 500yrs old. The followings are couple of picture that took by 1DMKII with 24-70 L.

Thank you, I just happened to be there with camera. Simply point and shoot.

Those are the first time that I went on trip with DSLR instead of MF.

Did anyone see the quality different between 1DMKII w/L lenses and 300D with 85mm f1.8? Personally I can see the different and it difference a lot.

One more thing, I also found 1DSMKII has more creamy picture (more DR) than 1DMKII.

Is my eye or brain has problem?

For me, although there are obvious differences between the two camera/lens combinations, my own personal preference is for the second of the two images.

I found 300D is more forgiving in lens, may be because 300D always shoot within lens' sweet spot.
The physical lenght of the lens also affect the handheld.

i much prefer your landscape photographs--your contrast and colors are absolutely beautiful! it looks like your portraits and cityscape images are a little underexposed. Overall--fantastic...I want to go there :)

#6, 9, 13, 14 are simply awesome. I do think a number of the images could benefit from some sharpening. The shots from your 300D and from your 1 series look equally good.

Here is another view of the main square of the town in Hongcun China. The flowing water supply, a fire prevention invention, has been flowing for 600 years non-stop.

In the area about 1 hour drive are the "mystery caves", (actual chinese name).

1700 year old mystery caves near Huangshan China. How and why caves were built is still unknown. There are 35 caves in all but only 2 are currently excavated for visiting. This cave is large, about the size of 4 basketball courts. Included in the cave are beds, streams, rooms, bridges.
