Well, I am not much into P & S cameras and don't know anything or much about them. The problem is that I have been asked by various of my friends which camera is the best, budget wise, feature wise and overall Image quality. Can anyone help me out regarding that as you all know that Buying your first digital camera can be a scary process, with dozens of models out there in the lower end of the price spectrum.

So, kindly either help me out with the models or features or suggest me some website where there are some comparisons or that can be helpful in this regard.

what do you want to shoot?
what do you want to do with the pictures?
what kind of computer do you plan to use with your P&S comera?
under what conditions are you planning to use the camera?

Give us some of this information and we can maybe give a worthless opinion or 2

if your looking for a smaller ps then i suggest the nikon s52 or s60...my gf has the 52 and its an awesome little camera...reading reviews on amazon can help too but its hard to tell who actually knows what they are talking about...

The Canon A590IS is unbeatable in value. It has lots of controls, the IQ is very good and it costs a measly $110 at Amazon right now.
I also read a lot of good reviews of the Canon SD880IS - it has a 28mm lens on the wide end. Less control, very good IQ though and very stylish.
For the ultimate in P&S quality - get the G10 - I love mine - it is a real photographer's P&S with tons of manual controls, easily accessible.
