Vendors for DIY Projects

I've got an itch to try constructing some simple optical slave triggers for flashes that I have. I know where I can purchase the electronic stuff, but I'm stumped as to where I can obtain components such as PC terminal plugs/jacks and similiar camera related items. Anybody know of some online vendors?

I did that years ago using sync cords & found that you can't use the wire in them as part of the mod. It's too fine, so you have to strip it off & solder to the PC connection. Turned out to be a real PITA for the few $s saved.
Maybe try a cam repair place? They have to order from somewhere.
