Low Light Compact P&S?

My office (nonphotogs) wants to purchase a decent point & shoot as an office camera. It will be used for snapshots at fundraisers, ribbon cuttings, speaking events, and other political affair. When I'm available, I bring my 40D. Currently, they have a Kodak camera that is just terrible.

Recommendations? Budget is <$300.

I recommend this camera just because it's so durable!! This is what I plan on purchasing in the near future.
