I hate to get on here and take up more space, but have a lense question. I have an OSAWA 80 to 205,F4.5 - 22 lense, is an old one I used on my Yashica 35mm camera, is this usable on my Canon Digital rebel, if so what do I need to make it work? I know the mount is different.

What kind of mount? If it's a Pentax thread mount or Contax/Yashica, there are adapters (EOS sticky here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42034) and Lens Adapters), but you probably won't want to. It'll be manual focus and manual exposure, and of unknown quality.

The quality was good in the Yashica camera, so I don't know what it would be like on here. Was just a thought is only lense for 35 mm I have left now, so will have to try to get rid of it if I can't use it. I suppose I could see if there was a mount and try it and see what it does. Thanks for the response. Bill

hey...
did you find an adaptor? How does it work?

I also found that my father had the same lens (i think). It is a
Osawa MC 80-205mm 1:4.5 with a Mamiya mount.
i really have no idea about the quality of this lens. I imagine it's the best lens in the worlds but, if for a couple of euros i could find an adaptor, i would gladly give it a chance...
Any idea of what kind of adaptor i would need for this? (to use it with my Canon 400D.)

I have looked on the net, but the only mamiya to canon adaptors that i found were for the mamiya 645. Is it the same?

I imagine maybe an adaptor is more expensive that the lens itself! Anyway, it's not nice to have the lens in a bag going bad...

Well, any help would be appreciated!
=)

make sure the adapter will let you focus to infinity,
because my dad had a minolta telephoto lens [not exactly sure which] but it had a manual aperature on the lens. anyways, if i wanted to mount it onto my crop sensored camera [7d] the only adapter for it would make focusing to infinity impossible

Question: Will an adapter degrade the quality of a lens?

Question: Will an adapter degrade the quality of a lens?
i imagine that is possible (almost for sure if in the adapter there are some glass elements), but i am hoping that there wouldn't be a significant difference...

Any suggestions about what adapter to use?
