I'm looking for a durable, quality brand of background support system. My old, very cheap ebay set broke today right before a shoot and I had to jury rig it to make it work.

It needs to be able to securely hold single 9' paper rolls, muslin, etc. No 3-bar sets needed.

The brands I've seen within my range so far are JTL, Photek and Savage. One person long ago recommended Savage port-a-stand, and once I saw a JTL setup here that looked like a good product when I saw some photos elsewhere.

I ordered a JTL B-1012 set tonight, free shipping. However, I'm open to other options because I can cancel the order over the weekend if another option would be more durable and long-lasting. I don't think Bogen offers anything in my price range, but if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Required 8'10" or higher max height, minimum width preferred to be wide enough for 9' background paper.

The footprint on the JTL stands is 40," 4" smaller than my Impact 9.5' light stands, which isn't too bad.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Ive got the JTl and have never had any problems with it. One thing I had to do is tighten up one of the pole clamps with a small socket, the pole was slowly sliding down under the weight of 2 muslins and a black velvet but this wasnt a problem with the stand I just had to much weight on it. After I tightened, its never slid down again.
